What is the Difference Between Real Estate Sales Associate And Real Estate Broker?

brokers own offices or at least, supervise the associates/sales people
[aka agents]. ALL listings become to brokers. The associates
get the client but the listings belong to the broker. BROKERS
are the legal responsible party in all offices.
The office license is in Brokers name, He is responsable for all agents and any deals they make. The Sales associate is an independant contractor who hangs their license in brokers office
broker can run a office and have sales associates working for them
You have to take a different test to become a Broker and it takes normally 3 years to go from an Associate to a Broker. After you become a Broker then you can own your own office.
Basically a Broker is more advanced and more knowledgeable than an Associate.
You didn’t ask but there is a difference between a Real Estate Agent and a Realtor too. A Realtor belongs to the National Association of Realtors but most importantly, you get to use the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) provided by your Real Estate Association in your area.
In a nutshell…
Obviously, a Broker is more advanced in terms of experience and learning and more knowledgeable in the business comparing to an Associate. Thus you need to undergo study or lots of experience before you reach the position of broker, in contrary they only depends on the broker before any moves shall be done. In addition once you become a broker you will now have the capacity to build your own office since you know more about the field of job.
